Most of my prints are digital compositions. Utilizing different images gives me the freedom to compose final pieces that have a depth of meaning that I find satisfying.
My current project is to produce a series of the massive migrations that are currently occurring in this hemisphere from Central America to the US, and from the Middle East and Africa to Europe. I think this is a "turning point" event in our history.
Photography for the sake of the photograph is new to me as my penchant has been to compose with layers of images.
"Quest For Justice" was an early project that was offered to me by a member of the Board of Directors of Peaceworkers whose Board I was also on for more than a decade. It is the story of the healing journey of a group of women who survived enormous institutional abuse during WWII, and were inspired to tell their truth with their art and their silent vigils until they died. Prior to development of the online content management systems we now have I was able to develop numerous website for organizations or individuals that did not have the resources to present their projects to the world through the internet. Some of these projects are presented here.
Graphic design is a natural direction with digital media skills, and proved a useful tool during the first 10 years of this century before these skills had been streamlined so they were available to everyone. Having these skills allowed me to work with some interesting and worthwhile projects for which I am grateful. And moving forward has given me the possibility to use these skill to compose, animate and design more original work.
